No sooner have the kids gone back to school after Christmas, but there’s mid term. A week off in the middle of February. February! Nae sun to speak of. No matter – Team T headed up north in search of some proper snow to attempt some of our own Winter Olympic moves. The Olympic committee are missing a trick, not including the frankly dangerous sport of ‘sledging’ in amongst it’s more glamorous sporty cousins! Snowboarding half-pipe? Pah! Try a slope littered with pinecones and a massive snowman at the bottom to hit at your peril. Paid £20 for a sledge x 2 boys (#sawmecoming). The trip to Landmark’s Bamboozeleum was brilliant for everyone – all sorts of visual trickery to delight the eye. Mercifully, the minis were so busy laughing at themselves in the wonky mirrors they didn’t notice this poster (above) pinned to a small wall, that was only readable from a key angle…
February also so me see, in person, the Dr Who from my childhood. Only bloomin’ Sylvester McCoy! What a dude. Sci-Fi Con at the Corn Exchange was a great day out, with the sci-fi theme being pleasantly stretched somewhat to encompass things like Harry Potter owls. And, in another throwback to nostalgia, although wholly unrelated to sci-fi or even owls, I’ve found scampi flavoured Nik Naks. THE best Nik Nak flavour, in my humble opinion.
