Website price guide
Nobody wants to get stung for a new website. Read our website price guide and learn how much to budget.
are you ready for a new website?
Here’s the most sage piece of advice we can give you, right in the first paragraph of our guide… Don’t get caught up too early in technical whizzbang and adding functions just because you can.
It’s far more important to ensure that you know exactly what your brand story is, who your ideal users are, and that you have a great brand script that really resonates. Those, alongside a compelling brand identity, guidelines and set of brand assets, are the foundations of your brand toolkit.
You’ll want all of that in place before you start looking at your website design. Because, quite simply, if you don’t have that sorted, the site you design and build won’t get the results you were hoping for.
Before you read on and get an idea of what to budget, be honest with yourself. Can you honestly say, with hand on heart, that you’ve got all of your brand toolkit in place and your 100% happy with how your organisation is coming across?
The budgets outlined in this guide are aimed at organisations who have all of that good stuff in place already. Don’t worry if you don’t, we can guide your brand to greatness. Just let us take you on a walk down MarketStreet, that’s our 3-step rebranding process.
If you do already have everything in place, then read on to understand what you need to budget for your new website.
Our modular approach means we can get you online quickly with our proven paths and then upgrade your site in a structured way when you’re ready.
It’s useful to know where you want to go – that helps us pick the right platforms at the start. But you don’t need to do everything at once. we find it’s best to continuously develop your site, deploying small changes, frequently.
Get in touch and let’s get you online asap.

(on average we find our clients invest between £10k-£20k in a well-designed responsive site, where there are no additional complex functions). The price varies due to the complexity of the site structure and the amount of information to be accommodated. This budget allows for copywriting and content creation as part of the website budget.
Spreading the cost
We understand your new website is a considerable investment. The good news is that most website projects take several months from beginning to launch.
We typically charge in 4 instalments. The first instalment is a deposit and is payable before work commences. the remaining instalments will be taken at fixed times, agreed with you before we commence.
The balance will be invoiced on the day of the launch. If you need it live fast, then we need to be paid fast, but if you want to spread the cost, then we can delay the process to suit your cash flow.

Added functionality = added cost but potentially greater reward…
If you’re in the service industry, these days your clients expect to interact with you online, in the same way they buy a cinema ticket or book a plane ticket.
Adding functionality like online bookings, Appointments, reservations and reviews, can significantly improve your customer experience and make your business more efficient.
With so many variables, it isn’t possible to cover everything in this website price guide. Why not get in touch and we can chat your project through and give you a more accurate ballpark? Don’t forget, the additional functions can be added later.

Taking payments or donations through your website
We’re happiest designing websites for B2B service industry clients and charities/member organisations. Don’t come to us if you’re looking for an online shop, there are many agencies that would be better placed to help you with that.
We can, however, provide you with the function to take payment for your service through your website or to take membership fees or donations.
Choosing the right platform is critical. To help us find the right one for you, we’ll need to understand what else you’re doing. Book into our weekly web surgery for a FREE review of your current site.

Cloud hosting
Your website will be deployed on our cloud platform.
We believe in keeping things simple, so depending on what type of website we build for you, we’ll suggest a suitable hosting package. This makes it easy to budget what you’ll be spending each month, with no unexpected surprises.
With search engines now penalising unsecured websites, we now include an SSL security certificate, standard for all sites we build and host.
You can expect to pay between £23 and £100 per month for hosting. Our recommended business hosting package is £33 per month and all of our hosted sites come standard with an SSL security certificate.

The ongoing costs…
What use is a website price guide if it doesn’t cover the ongoing costs? Getting your site launched is just the beginning. To generate traffic, make the most of the analytics tools and keep your site fresh requires commitment and a range of different skills. if you prefer, you can pay-as-you-go when you need us – we charge £120 +VAT per studio hour.
Or with our support bundles you know we’re ready for you. Our team becomes your team. Rather than paying by the hour to make small changes, or per incident for support, our support bundles give you priority access when you need us.
In addition to support, we also offer SEO bundles to help get your new site ranking in search engines. We can also help you with digital marketing – setting goals for search engine marketing, social media campaigns and email marketing. It’s a really great way to get the most out of your website and drive leads from your content.

Our support bundles start at just £105 +VAT per month and scale with you, as you need us. We’ll review your plan periodically to ensure we continue to deliver value.
A word about ‘free’ websites
We’ve written this website price guide to give an idea of what our clients budget for their sites. Depending on your goals, we can get your business started for less, and build up your budget as you start to get results. What we definitely can’t do, is build you a website for free.
Google ‘free websites’ and you will see a vast array of options all offering you the chance to build your own website and get started entirely free of charge. Sounds great, doesn’t it?
Here’s why we think it’s a waste of your time. Building your own website with Squarespace, GoDaddy or Wix will prove time-consuming and to get the best out of it will require A LOT of your time. Shoehorning your current logo into a restrictive template will not do your brand justice! We charge a fair price to build websites and it can take from 80 – 200 hours to plan, write, design and build a site. It’s not going to take you any less time to do a decent job and you’ll be far more restricted than we are.
If you are a creative type and you want to spend your spare time on it, then give it a go! You’ll probably need to pay a subscription to get the features you’ll require for a professional looking site and you’ll need to do a lot of learning if you want it to be found in search engines. Good luck with it!
If you’d rather spend your time doing what your good at, let us take care of your website.
