When we were approached by two suavely dressed, gung-ho directors of a well-established Scottish architect’s practice to create a new brand identity for their business, we squealed with delight and did a happy dance.

Ok, so maybe it was more of a giggle and a floss. We’re not that cool.

Unlike these guys. Formerly known as Susan Stephen Architects , this contemporary architects’ practice  needed a fresh new brand to go with their fresh new name.

56three – the co-ordinates of their Edinburgh HQ – is a spin on the normal  convention favoured by many practices of using the founder’s name.

First, we conducted a workshop to uncover the team’s ‘why’ and their core values. Together, we then dug deep into the who: the people they work with best, add real value to, create meaningful projects for and do great business with – ideal target personas.

This gave us all a throrough understanding of the company and their new direction.

Armed with this invaluable info, we drafted an informed creative brief, with their ideal client and company goals at the heart.

As a result, we created a dynamic new identity, easy-to-follow guidelines and an effective website that showcases their wide range of award-winning work.

Not letting a wee thing like an unforseen pandemic get in the way, Richard and Gordon set course and launched their new baby out into the world in March 2020.

Richard Howl, Director, said:

“A big thank you to you and your team for helping us become 56three. The feedback has been great and I’m personally proud to send every email with our new logo and name on it.”

Fast forward to now, and they’re forging ahead with new recruits and exciting project wins.

We couldn’t be more proud.
